Internet filters force 90-year-old magazine to change name, block useful information

90-year-old Canadian history magazine The Beaver is changing its name. Why? In brief, Internet filters. In being named for the dam-building creature that is Canada’s national emblem, it is also named for a prominent slang word for female genitalia. This means that anyone behind a web filter, such as those commonly used at schools and libraries, may be unable to read it.

This is just sad, the Beaver is a proud and noble animal….
Chuckle….

Seriously!? I can just imagine someone out in the school yard listening to the kids, analyzing their conversations, then adding sexual euphemisms to the filter as they come-up! They probably have a committee too! And gov’t funding!!! I wonder where kids get their disdain for authority?
